University Of Miami Close To Finding Shalala's Replacement

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami/AP) — A vote is set next week to choose University of Miami's next president, replacing President Donna Shalala.
Members of Miami's Board of Trustees have been invited to vote Monday and choose the sixth president of the private university. It's expected Shalala's replacement would be announced that same day.
Shalala announced last year that she is leaving the job. She will remain in place through the end of this academic year.
Shalala was the U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary under President Bill Clinton. Her next job will also involve working alongside the 42nd President, as she's been tabbed to lead the Clinton Foundation.
Shalala took office at Miami on June 1, 2001. The search for her replacement has been ongoing since September, when she announced plans to step down.
