UM Wide Receivers Hurting Ahead Of USF Game
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If you have dependable hands, can run like the wind, and have eligibility left, the Miami Hurricanes may want to talk to you about suiting up at wide receiver.
It's not that bad yet, but the injuries and suspensions continue to pile up for the Hurricanes leaving the wide receivers corps painfully thin heading into the game against the University of South Florida Bulls this Saturday.
UM's second-leading receiver Rashawn Scott is still suspended for at least one more game. According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, freshman receiver Robert Lockhart is out for the season as is freshman receiver Malcolm Lewis.
The Herald reported the latest Hurricanes receiver to go down was the team's third-leading receiver, Allen Hurns. Luckily for UM fans, Hurns should be available for the team on Saturday after breaking a bone in his left thumb, the Herald reported.
Sophomore receiver Phillip Dorsett leads the team in receiving yards with 648 on the season; he's also caught four touchdown passes in 2012.
