MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Friday marks a new era at the University of Miami as the school's new president is officially inaugurated.
Dr. Julio Frenk was named UM's sixth president in April, taking over for Donna Shalala. He's the first hispanic president for the school and came from the Harvard School of Public Health, and also served as Mexico's Minister of Health.
On Thursday, he helped break ground for the Miller School of Medicine's Center for Education.
An inauguration ceremony is being held for Dr. Frenk, with CBS4 Meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez acting as the Alumni Marshall.
