UM Ranks 47th Best University In The Nation
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The University of Miami came out ahead of Florida on the football field last weekend and now leads UF in another key rating, this one from U.S. News & World Report.
The annual college rankings from U.S. News & World Report released Tuesday ranked UM at number 47 in the country for best university.
According to the ratings, UM has 53.3 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students, and the student faculty ratio at the school is 11:1.
UM's total enrollment was pegged at 16,172 and had a 39.7 percent acceptance rate along with a six-year graduation rate of 81 percent.
U.S. News reported the price of tuition and fees at UM was $42,852 for the 2013/14 school year. UM's ranking at 47 tied the school with Yeshiva University out of New York.
The University of Florida ranked 49th best university in the nation in the rankings. But, you will pay a lot less to go to UF than you would to go to UM.
U.S. News found in-state tuition at fees at UF were $6,263 in the 2013/14 school year. Even out-of-state tuition was only $28,541 for the current school year at UF, much less than the more than $40,000 for UM.
UF's total enrollment was reported to be 49,913 with a 44.1 percent acceptance rate and a six-year graduation rate of 85 percent, according to the U.S. News rankings.
