UM Now Ranked #2 In Country
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Carrying a 12-0 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the University of Miami Hurricanes have ascended to the number two ranking in the country, the highest ranking in team history.
The Canes are ranked second in the coach's poll, just 29 points behind top-ranked Indiana. Following the Canes in the coach's poll are: Gonzaga, Florida, and Michigan State. Rounding out the top 10 are: Duke, Michigan, Syracuse, Kansas, and Louisville.
Miami has wins over two top ten teams (Michigan State and Duke) inside the confines of the Bank United Center. The Canes haven't lost this calendar year and haven't lost when they have their full team available as well.
The ACC placed just two teams in the Top 25, Duke and Miami. The Big Ten Conference has a total of five teams in the Top 25, while the SEC has just one team ranked, the Florida Gators.
The Canes also are second in the Associated Press' Top 25 Poll and received 20 number one votes in the rankings.
