UM Drops To 14th In New AP Poll
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Hurricanes' loss to the Florida State Seminoles Saturday night pushed FSU closer to number two Oregon and dropped the Canes below several two loss teams in the latest AP rankings.
The top of the rankings remained largely the same with Alabama number one, Oregon number two, FSU number three, Ohio State fourth, and Baylor fifth. But, FSU is now just nine points behind Oregon for the number two spot after demolishing UM, 41-14.
Coming in at sixth are the Stanford Cardinal followed by the Auburn Tigers at seven, Clemson Tigers at eight, Missouri Tigers at nine, and the LSU Tigers at 10.
UM dropped from seventh in the ranking last week to 14th this week after the loss to FSU. Texas Tech had the biggest drop from 15th to 25th after losing to Oklahoma State.
One oddity from the rankings this week, all four teams ranked 7th through 10th have Tigers as mascots.
