UF Ranked Number 1 In Latest Polls
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – When the AP released this week's college basketball Top 25 there was a new team at the top that hasn't been there since 2007, the Florida Gators.
UF moved to the top of the rankings thanks to back-to-back losses by Syracuse. The Gators have been steady all season long and are the class of the basketball weak SEC. Florida has won 19 straight games heading into Tuesday's game at Vanderbilt.
If UF wins at Vandy, the Gators will clinch at least a share of the SEC regular season championship.
UF is 25-2 on the season and even with two losses still is number one over the only major school that remains undefeated, the Wichita State Shockers.
Of note, the last time the Gators reached number in the regular season, without starting the season at number one, UF lost in the following game.
