UCF Sells Out Home Game Against Gamecocks
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The University of Central Florida's football team will be playing before sold-out home crowd when the South Carolina Gamecocks come to Orlando on Saturday.
UCF announced Monday that the nationally televised game was sold out. It's the first sell-out of Bright House Networks Stadium since September 10, 2011 in a game against Boston College.
UCF's last home game against a ranked team came in 2009 when it upset then 12th ranked Houston.
The Golden Knights have played three games thus far this year and haven't lost haven beat Akron, FIU, and Penn State at Happy Valley.
But the step up in competition will come Saturday when South Carolina comes to town. The last time an SEC team played UCF was last year when Missouri beat the Knights in Orlando.
UCF has a tough three weeks ahead of it with the game on Saturday against South Carolina, a game the following week against Memphis and then a showdown against seventh-ranked Louisville on the road on October 18.
