UCF Loses Dynamic Duo To NFL
ORLANDO (CBSMiami) – The University of Central Florida Golden Knights will have some big shoes to fill heading into the 2014 campaign.
UCF quarterback Blake Bortles and running back Storm Johnson announced Monday they will forego their senior seasons and enter the 2014 NFL Draft. Both made their announcement Monday just days after UCF beat Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl.
Bortles was instrumental throughout the 12-1 run for the Knights, throwing for more than 3,500 yards and 25 touchdowns, while completing 68 percent of his passes. Johnson rushed for more than 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns in his first year as the starter.
Bortles sought a rating from the NFL Draft Advisory Board and reportedly received a first-round grade. Some projections list him as one of the top quarterbacks available in the draft behind only Louisville signal caller Teddy Bridgewater.
