Two Teens Shot Just Blocks Apart In NW Miami-Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two teens were stuck by bullets Tuesday, making it yet another night of senseless shootings.
At the first scene in Brownsville, a 13-year-old Cedric Pernell was shot in the back.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue rushed Pernell to Jackson Memorial Hospital Trauma Center. His condition is currently unknown.
Police don't know the motive for the shooting, but they believe they have those responsible in custody.
Miami-Dade police received a tip that a white Mercedes 4-door sedan was seen fleeing the area at the time of the shooting.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle to no avail. A chase started and police called in a chopper for assistance, but the Mercedes lost control at NW 7th Ave. and NW 56th St.
Three teens – ages 15, 17 and 19-year-old Eric Williams Bell.
The second scene was just blocks away at NW 6th Ave. and NW 57th St.
According to Miami police, the shooting happened just before 9 p.m.
Miami Fire Rescue rushed the 18-year-old to Jackson Memorial Hospital. The teen's condition is unknown.
This makes at least eight teens shot in Miami-Dade County in the last week.
Earlier in the week, six teens were shot at a Sweet 16 party in South Miami Heights.
Local leaders held a meeting Tuesday evening to discuss the gun violence plaguing the streets.
