Two Sick Puppies Need Your Help
BOCA RATON (CBS4) - The Tri County Humane Society in Boca Raton is reaching out to animal lovers across South Florida to help save two very sick Shih Tzu puppies.
Shelter founder and CEO Jeanette Christos said the woman who brought in the two six-week old dogs said that they had been abandoned. The dogs are missing 90 percent of their fur from a severe skin infection.
The puppies' eyes are also suffering from an infection and a specialist has told the shelter that each puppy will have to have one of their eyes removed. If not, the infection will grow to a point where the eye will burst.
Christos said both dogs are in severe pain and the most they can do for them at this time is keep them comfortable. The Tri County Humane Society is a no kill shelter and Christos said with so many animals brought to them on a weekly basis, they do not have the funds at this time to pay for the needed surgeries.
Anyone who would like to offer financial help is urged to call the shelter at (561) 482-8110. Donations can also be made online at tricountyhumane.org.
