Two People Escape Deerfield Beach House Fire

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Two people are safe after a fire severely damaged their home in Deerfield Beach.
The fire erupted inside the residence at 811 SW 14th Street around 5 a.m. The two people who were inside sleeping made it out without injury.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue sent out a tweet saying they were lucky because the home didn't have a working smoke detector.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
