Two Missing After Bahamas Plane Crash
NASSAU (CBSMiami) - The US Coast Guard and Bahamian officials are searching for any survivors from a small plane that crashed Monday near the islands as it traveled to Daytona Beach.
The plane, carrying two people, had left the small airport at Marsh Harbor Monday afternoon, and had been in contact with flight control. Contact was lost, and a search was ordered.
A helicopter crew located possible debris from an aircraft off the Bahamas. Bahamian authorities later located a sheen of oil nearby.
Authorities have not disclosed the aircraft's tail number or details about the missing passengers.
