Two Men Hurt, One Critical, In Hallandale Beach Shooting
HALLANDALE BEACH (CBS4) - Hallandale Beach Police are trying to figure out who shot two men inside an apartment late Tuesday afternoon near Pembroke Road and Dixie Highway.
Investigators scoured the dirt and soil in a vacant lot near a home tucked away from the street where two men were shot -- leaving one in critical condition. Detectives say they have very little information.
"We don't have a motive," said Major Thomas Honan. "We don't have suspects and we don;t have anything that can help us with the investigation at this time."
Police say they didn't find any witnesses on scene. Relatives of one of the men who was shot said they aren't surprised that information is scarce.
"No answers. It's always no answers as to why it happened," said Gigi Walker.
Walker and her sister Tiffany Bryant said they have seen too many young men shot and killed in recent weeks.
"It's senseless violence because once you lose a life you can't get it back," Walker said.
As detectives tried to unravel the violent details, these women sounded pessimistic that whoever did this shooting will turn themselves in or be caught.
"A person who does something so cruel they're not gonna want to spend the rest of their life in prison." Bryant said. "They're gonna stay on the run."
The victims were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. If you have any information about this shooting call Hallandale Beach Police or Crime stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
