Two Men Charged In Fla. City Home Invasion, Murder

FLORIDA CITY (CBS4) - Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a home invasion and murder in Florida City last week.

According to police, 22-year old Devon Tillman got into a fight with another man at his home on NW 14th Street last Friday when he wanted to break off his relationship with Tillman. As the fight grew more intense, the man's brother intervened and told Tillman he had to leave. That's when, police say, Tillman threatened to kill him.

Tillman left but police say he returned a short time later with three other men including 27-year old Albert Amador. Two children who were in the home were also forced into the rear bedroom. Police said the brother was then severely beaten and shot again. One of the children managed to escape through a window and ran to her uncle's house where she told her father, her uncle and the man Tillman had threatened to kill what was going on.

They called police and then ran back to the other house. When the man entered the home, he was reportedly shot by Amador. When his father and uncle arrived at the house they found place had been ransacked and robbed.

Both of the injured men were taken to the Ryder Trauma Center. The man allegedly shot by Amador died of his injuries, his brother remains in critical condition.

Tillman has been charged with attempted murder, armed home invasion, armed kidnapping and false imprisonment. Amador has been charged with first degree murder, armed home invasion, armed kidnapping and false imprisonment. Both men are being held without bond.
