Two Men Arrested After Leaving An Elderly Woman "Emotionally Distraught"
PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) – For what seemed like a regular run to the grocery store turned out to be a scary situation for an elderly woman who was left "emotionally distraught" Tuesday evening in Greenacres.
According to police, the 86-year-old woman was walking around a Publix store around 3 p.m. When the woman turned away from her shopping cart to pick an item off of the shelf a man ran by and swiped her purse out of the cart, said a Greenacres police officer.
As the man ran out of the store, a shopper began to chase him but the crook got away after he jumped into a stolen blue Kia.
When police arrived on scene they described the woman to be "emotionally distraught."
About an hour later, Kenneth Jacob Toth, 29, and Gary Ellison Johnson, 42, were arrested.
Both men are suspected of using stolen credit cards at Best Buy and Super Target.
