Two Men Arrested After Body Found In Davie Canal
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a Tampa man whose body was found floating in a Davie canal last Thursday.
Nineteen year old Andarly Desir of Lauderhill and 19-year old David Weintraub of Tamarac have both been charged with premeditated murder in the death of 76-year old William Norman, according to the Sun Sentinel. Both Desir and Weintraub are being held with bail at the Broward County jail.
Records show Weintraub lived in a Tamarac home in the 6000 block of Northeast 71st Avenue which was owned by Norman. Neighbors in the area said Norman rented out the house and recently had a very loud argument with the two tenants who currently lived there.
Last Thursday, a Broward County maintenance worker was cleaning a canal in the 1400 block of Southwest 121st Avenue when he found a body floating in the water with a plastic bag sealed with tape over its head.
Davie police have not said how they linked Desir and Weintraub to Norman's murder.
