Two Men Injured In Shooting At Fort Lauderdale's Booze Garden Club
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Two men were injured during a shooting early Wednesday morning at a Fort Lauderdale nightclub.
It happened around 2 a.m. at the Booze Garden at 111 SW 2nd Avenue in Fort Lauderdale's Riverwalk Entertainment District.
The injured men were taken to Broward Health Medical Center, their conditions were not released.
According to a business owner on the strip who did not want his identity revealed, one of the men injured during the shooting was working as a security guard outside.
The business owner told CBS4 the security guard asked a man, who was on a bike outside of the club, to leave the area and that's when shots rang out. According to him, the guard was hit and the same bullet ricocheted, hitting another man inside the bar.
A crime scene investigator was observed picking up a spent bullet casing at the door to the club which was cordoned off with yellow crime tape. They also took a bicycle that was near the entrance.
Police confirmed that one man was shot in the doorway and the other was shot while sitting inside the club.
Detectives have not released any information on what led up to the shooting.
The club, off Broward Boulevard just north of Las Olas Boulevard, is known for its nightlife.
CBS4's Keith Jones spoke to an officer at the scene. He said the club was fairly busy for a Wednesday morning and there had been no problems there in the past.
