Two Bodies Found In Backyard Of Miami Home
MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami police scoured the area around a vacant home Tuesday morning after the bodies of two people were found in the backyard.
Miami Fire spokesman Lt. Ignatius Carroll said the bodies were discovered just after dawn behind a boarded up house at 594 NW 67th Street.
Neighbors told CBS4's Silva Harapetian that they heard several gun shots early in the morning but didn't call police because gunfire is fairly common in their neighborhood.
"The didn't think anything of it, they are used to hearing shots fire, they didn't contact the police," said police spokeswoman Keandra Simmons.
"No, no, not getting up to see nothing," said Bernard Williams, "I might have been the next victim."
Chopper4 over the scene spotted the two bodies lying side by side near the rear of the home. One of the dead appeared to be a young man dressed in a yellow t-shirt and jean shorts. A second young man, his body sprawled near the first, was dressed in a blue shirt, blue work pants and was barefoot. Investigators walked carefully over the yard, putting down markers in the grass on potential evidence which will be collected.
Police have not released the names of the dead or speculated as to what led to the shooting.
