Two Arrested After Tri-County Chase On NB I-95

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Two people are in custody following a tri-county police chase on Wednesday.
Police were chasing after a red Volkwagen Jetta on the northbound lanes of I-95 until Boynton Beach.
Just before 5 p.m., a man was seen jumping out of the vehicle and running away. Another man inside the vehicle stayed behind.
The man who ran off was eventually found and arrested.
Miami Gardens police said the chase started earlier when officers heard what they believed was a gun shot.
Shortly after that they saw a car speed onto the ramp of the eastbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway (826).
Officers got behind the car and tried to conduct a traffic stop. That when, according to police, the car tried to ram the officers off of the road, leading to the tri-county chase.
The officer were not injured in the chase.
