Trump Taps Son-In-Law For Administration Post

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) -- Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner has been tapped for a top spot in his administration - as senior adviser to the president.
Kushner, who's been one of his father-in-law's top advisors throughout his campaign will continue his role in the White House, Trump's camp announced Monday evening.
"Jared has been a tremendous asset and trusted advisor throughout the campaign and transition and I am proud to have him in a key leadership role in my administration," said President-elect Trump.
According to Trump's camp, Kushner will work closely with Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Chief Strategist Stephen K. Bannon.
Priebus said Kushner "is a visionary with a rare ability to communicate with and assemble broad coalitions of support."
"It is an honor to serve our country," said Kushner. "I am energized by the shared passion of the President-elect and the American people and I am humbled by the opportunity to join this very talented team."
Kushner, who's married to Trump's daughter Ivanka, has some hurdles to cross before reaching his post. First off, he needs to argue that by taking the position, they will not be breaking federal anti-nepotism laws that forbid officials from appointing relatives to government positions does not apply to him. He also needs to eliminate potential conflicts of interest between his family's multi-billion dollar real estate empire and his government duties.
Kushner has chosen to forego his salary while serving in the administration, according to Trump's camp.
