Trump To Pump $200 Million Into Doral Golf Resort
DORAL (CBSMiami/AP) – The Doral Golf Resort is about to get $200 makeover from its new owner Donald Trump who said when he's done, it will be one of the best golf resorts in the world.
Trump said Thursday he will be different from previous owners of the Miami area resort. Instead of looking at it as merely and an investment, Trump wants to keep the resort for a long time and get his return by making it a destination. The resort has hosted a PGA Tour event annually since 1962.
He has hired Gil Hanse, who on Wednesday was named architect of the new Olympic course in Brazil, for a renovation.
While Trump hasn't decided on a name for the course, he said Doral will be a part of it.
This weekend the resort is hosting the Cadillac Championship.
