Tropical Storm Sean Could Become Hurricane Thursday

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Tropical Storm Sean has restrengthened and is expected to become a hurricane by Thursday.

At 10 p.m., the system was about 400 miles southwest of Bermuda.  Sean's maximum sustained winds are 65 mph.  Tropical storm force winds extended 290 miles from Sean's center.

Sean was moving to the north-northwest at 8 mph and the National Hurricane Center said Sean is expected to take a gradual turn to the north over the next 24 hours followed by a turn to the northeast.

A Tropical Storm Warning is posted for Bermuda, because Sean is expected to pass northwest of Bermuda on Friday morning.

Bermuda could see up to three inches of rain from the storm.

Swells generated by Sean are expected to affect portions of southeastern coast of the U.S.
