Rina Becoming Better Organized Over NW Caribbean Sea

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Hurricane Rina has strengthened and is becoming better organized as it moves towards Mexico.

At 11 p.m., the center of Hurricane Rina was about 200 miles southwest of Grand Cayman and moving to the west-northwest at 3 miles per hour.

Hurricane Rina has sustained winds are 80 miles per hour and hurricane force winds extend outward up to 15 miles and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 115 miles.

Rina is expected to strengthen in the next 48 hours and could become a major hurricane (Category 3 or higher) on Tuesday.

Rina is expected to produce up to four inches of rain over the Cayman Islands.
