Philippe Hanging Tough Despite Storm Killing Winds
MIAMI (CBS4) –Philippe weakened a bit Sunday but hung on to its tropical storm status as it headed west over the Atlantic.
At 5 p.m. Sunday, Philippe was located 825 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. Maximum sustained winds were holding at 50 mph with some higher gusts.
The system was moving to the west-northwest at 12 mph.
The National Hurricane Center said Philippe is expected head west through Tuesday. Some weakening is expected as Philippe is impacted by strong upper level winds.
