Tropical Storm Philippe Weaker Than Expected In Atlantic
MIAMI (CBS4) – Tropical Storm Phillipe continues to move across the Atlantic, although forecasters say it is weaker than previously estimated.
At 11 p.m., Philippe was located 715 miles west of the southernmost Cape Verde islands. Maximum sustained winds were 50 mph with some higher gusts.
The system was moving to the northwest at 8 mph. The National Hurricane Center said Philippe is expected to continue to move to the northwest over the next couple of days as well as decrease in speed.
There are currently no watches or warnings posted for this storm.
