Tropical Storm Philippe Slightly Stronger
MIAMI (CBS4) – Tropical Storm Philippe has strengthened slightly as it moves west-northwest across the Atlantic.
At 11 p.m., Philippe was located 1115 miles west of the Cape Verde islands. Maximum sustained winds were 45 mph with some higher gusts. Tropical storm force winds extended 175 miles from Philippe's center.
The system was moving to the west-northwest at 13 mph. A turn toward the northwest is expected on Thursday.
