Philippe Remains Disorganized, No Threat To Land

MIAMI (CBS4) – Tropical Storm Philippe is maintaining tropical storm strength as it continues to make its long trek across the Atlantic.

At 11 p.m., Philippe was located 1195 miles east-northeast of the Leeward Islands. Maximum sustained winds were 45 mph with some higher gusts.  Tropical storm force winds extended 190 miles from Philippe's center.

The system was moving to the northwest at 13 mph.  The National Hurricane Center said little change in strength is expected over the next day or so.

Forecasters expect the storm to turn toward the west-northwest on Friday or Saturday.

There are currently no watches or warnings posted for this storm.
