Karen Weakens To A Depression
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - It's Tropical Storm Karen no more as the system over the North Central Gulf was downgraded to a tropical depression Saturday evening.
At 10 p.m., the system was about 120 miles south-southwest of Morgan City, Louisiana. Karen has maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour and the system is stationary.
The National Hurricane Center has discontinued all tropical storm warnings.
A turn toward the northeast is expected tonight followed by a turn toward the east-northeast.
The system is expected to in forward speed on Sunday and a turn toward the east is forecast Monday.
