T.S. Harvey Gains Strength As It Approaches Honduras
MIAMI (CBS4) - Tropical Storm Harvey has strengthened as it begins to approach the bay islands of Honduras.
At 11:00 p.m., Tropical Storm Harvey was about 95 miles east of Isla Roatan, Honduras.
Maximum sustained winds for Harvey increased slightly to 60 miles per hour as of the 11 p.m. advisory, some strengthening is expected as the storm approaches the Bay Islands and Belize.
Tropical storm warnings are in effect for the bay islands of Honduras from Punta Patuca westward, the coast of Belize, and the southeastern coast of the Yucatan peninsula from Punta Gruesa southward to Chetumal
Tropical storm watches are in effect for the coast of Guatemala.
Tropical Storm Harvey is moving to the west at 9 miles per hour and the National Hurricane Center expects Harvey to stay on that path for the next couple of days.
On the present track, Tropical Storm Harvey will move across the coast of Belize Saturday or Saturday night.
