Tropical Storm Fiona Moving More Slowly Toward Northwest

MIAMI (CBMiami) - Tropical Storm Fiona is moving more slowly toward the northwest.
At 11 p.m., the center of the system was about 1180 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands.
The storm had maximum sustained winds of 45 mph as it moved to the northwest at 8 mph. A northwestward motion with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days.
Some slight strengthening is possible overnight or early Friday, followed by weakening late Friday and into the weekend.
There are no watches or warnings in effect for this storm.
