Tropical Storm Fiona Continues To Weaken

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Fiona, located over the central tropical Atlantic.
As of the 11am advisory, Fiona continues to move to the west-northwest at 16 miles per hour and is located about 680 miles northeast of the Leeward Islands.
That general motion is expected to continue during the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are currently 40 miles per hour with higher gusts..
There are currently no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
Some weakening is expected during the next 24 hours and Fiona could weaken to a tropical depression later today or tonight.
Tropical storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles from the center of the storm.
