Tropical Storm Cindy Strengthens; Still No Threat To Land
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) - The third tropical storm of the season, Cindy, has picked up speed as it moves over the open waters of the Atlantic.
At 11:00 p.m., the storm had maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour and was moving towards the northeast at 28 miles per hour. The storm was located 910 miles west-northwest of the Azores.
The National Hurricane Center said some Cindy should begin to lose strength over the next 48 hours as it moves over the colder water of the North Atlantic and is forecast to lose tropical characteristics by Saturday.
Cindy is not a threat to any land.
