Tropical Storm Michael Nearly Stationary, No Threat To Land
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Storm Michael is nearly stationary after forming in the Atlantic earlier Tuesday.
At 11 p.m., the center of the storm was about 1215 miles west-southwest of the Azores.
Maximum sustained winds increased to 50 mph and the storm was has stalled, earlier moving to the north-northwest.
There are no watches or warnings for this storm.
The NHC forecasts that the system will continue on a slow northwest motion for the next couple of days which keeps the storm in the eastern Atlantic waters.
Little change in strength is expected over the next 48 hours.
