Tropical Depression 13 Slowly Moving Toward Louisiana
MIAMI (CBS4) - The National Hurricane center is monitoring the newly formed Tropical Depression 13 late Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico.
As of 11:00 p.m., the depression was located about 225 miles southwest of the mouth of the Mississippi River. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour and is moving northwest at 2 mph.
The depression is expected to intensify over the next 48 hours, becoming a tropical storm on Friday.
A tropical storm warning has been issued for the coast of the northern Gulf of Mexico from Pascagoula Mississippi westward to Sabine Pass Texas.
