Trial Date Set For Alleged Sean Taylor Shooter
MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – Five years after the shooting death of Redskins safety Sean Taylor in his Miami home, a trial date has been set for the man accused of the shooting.
Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Dennis Murphy set the trial for Eric Rivera, Jr. for November 5. The trial was initially delayed after Rivera fired his attorney.
Rivera is among five defendants from the Fort Myers area who are accused in the death of Taylor during a robbery at the former UM stars home. Four of those defendants have pled not guilty and will be tried separately.
A fifth defendant pled guilty to murder and burglary and is expected to testify against the others.
If Rivera, Jr. is convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
