Tri-Rail Services Still Affected After Derailment

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Tri-Rail services remain affected after a train derailed in Pompano Beach Thursday.
Buses will continue to take passengers to and from Pompano Beach and Cypress Creek stations. However, the passengers are advised to find another form of transportation.
Tri-Rail officials said it derailed in the morning hours just North of Mcnab Road and south of the Cypress Creek station.
The train was headed in the northbound direction with 40 passengers on board at the time. One person was injured.
The crew reportedly struck debris on the tracks, causing the derailment. Pompano Beach Fire officials said there was also a diesel spill from the engine of the train. It was later contained.
A number of streets in the area were shut down due to the derailment.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
