Tri-Rail Facing Delays After Pedestrian Hit By Train
NORTH MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – Tri-Rail passengers are facing extensive delays on Sunday after a northbound train was stopped in the area of I-95 and Ives Dairy Road after a pedestrian was struck and killed.
According to the Tri-Rail website, passengers can expect excessive delays and are encouraged to seek alternate means of transportation.
The stopped train has 39 passengers on board who have access to bathrooms on the train during the long delay. That message was delivered from Tri-Rail spokeswoman Bonnie Arnold on Sunday morning.
Busses have been running between the Golden Glades and Fort Lauderdale airport stations, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
"We have been experiencing delays," Arnold said. "If people have alternate means of transportation, they should probably seek that."
She added that the pedestrian was struck before 7 a.m. when the train was moving north between the Golden Glades and Hallandale Beach station.
Passengers were being interviewed by law enforcement officials who are investigating the incident.
