Trayvon's Mother Says Heart Is Healing
ORLANDO (CBSMiami) — Trayvon Martin's parents will appear on CBS This Morning on Thursday morning to talk for the first time since the George Zimmerman verdict.
Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon's mother, has also said on Twitter "God is healing my heart."
Fulton posted her message on Tuesday, three days after jurors acquitted Zimmerman of any crime for fatally shooting her 17-year-old son.
Fulton also said that watching so many people come together following the verdict in Sanford last Saturday reminds her there's still a lot of work to do.
Fulton and Martin's father, Tracy Martin, have pushed for limits on stand your ground self-defense laws in Florida and other states.
Martin supporters nationwide have taken to the streets to protest the verdict.
Fourteen people were arrested after multiple acts of vandalism and several assaults in Los Angeles' Crenshaw District overnight.
