Trapped Kittens Rescued By Broward Firefighters
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A couple of cute and cuddly kittens have at least eight lives left to live after being rescued by Broward Sheriff firefighters.
The kittens were trapped in the wall of a home in Fort Lauderdale on the 2800 block of NW 12th Court.
The family who lives in the home heard the kittens little, tiny meows from behind a wall in a bedroom so they called for help, according to sheriff's spokesman Mike Jachles.
When firefighters from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue Engine 14 showed up, they used a thermal imaging camera and a stethoscope to pinpoint the locations of the frightened felines.
After carefully, very carefully, cutting a hole in the drywall and removing some debris, the two tiny kittens dropped down the wall into the rescuers hands.
They appeared to be in good shape but thirsty.
Firefighters gave the kittens water from a syringe and handed them over to the family, who plan to keep and care for them.
