Toyota Warns Of Summer Shortages
MIAMI (CBS4) - If you are planning on car shopping this summer and have you're eyes set on a new Toyota, you may have some trouble finding the model you want.
Toyota's U.S. general manager Bob Carter sent a memo to dealerships letting them know that vehicle supplies, including paint colors, could be "significantly impacted" because of production slowdowns in Japan and North America.
The memo comes after the March 11th earthquake and tsunami that caused damage to the suppliers in Japan.
Carter said that plants won't be running at full capacity this month. Production schedules have yet to be set for May through July.
With more than 300,000 vehicles in stock, Carter said that the company is optimistic that the shortage will not affect car sales in the month of April.
