Top Performers From The Dolphins Week 12 Loss To The Jets

The Miami Dolphins took another step backwards in their attempt to end a six year playoff drought as they lost to the New York Jets 38-20.
Miami now holds a 4-7 record after dropping four of their last five games, ultimately removing any hopes of a late-season playoff push.
Sunday's loss to the Jets was similar to most of the Dolphins losses this season, with the team falling behind early, abandoning the run game and failing to sustain drives to give the defense a reasonable amount of rest.
After winning 11 games in 2008, the Dolphins have won between six and eight games in each season since. Miami will have to win at least two of their final five games, four of which are at home, to reach six wins.
Before moving on to Week 13, here are the Dolphins top performers from their Week 12 loss to the Jets.
Jarvis Landry
Despite being questionable heading into the game with a knee injury, Landry put up career-highs in targets with 16, receptions with 13 and receiving yards with 165. He also scored a touchdown late in the third quarter.
Michael Thomas
The Dolphins third year safety also had a career day, recording ten tackles in the loss. He made just 18 total tackles in 2014, his first full year with Miami, but now has 51 through 11 games this season.
DeVante Parker
After Rishard Matthews was removed from the game early in the first quarter with a chest injury that ended up being cracked ribs, Parker saw more playing time against the Jets than he had seen the entire season up until that point. The rookie out of Louisville made four catches for 80 yards and his first career touchdown. He's still a work in progress, but the ceiling is still very high for the big bodied wideout.
Kelvin Sheppard
The first-year Dolphins linebacker had his third consecutive strong game, recording nine tackles, two tackles for loss and one pass defended. He now has made 35 tackles, five for loss, in his last three games for Miami.
Reshad Jones
Jones continues to be the best player on the field for the Dolphins, making plays in the secondary and at the line of scrimmage. He finished with just seven tackles, making his season total now 98. He had a tackle for loss and a pass defended and came up with a couple of big stops on short yardage situations.
Ryan Tannehill
Lost in the mix of the loss, the criticism and ultimate firing of offensive coordinator Bill Lazor was a fairly solid game by Tannehill. He completed a season-high 33 passes on a ridiculous 58 attempts for 351 yards and three touchdowns. I continue to maintain that until Tannehill gets to play behind a decent offensive line, it's unfair to judge how good of a quarterback he may or may not be.
