The NBA free agency frenzy has been going strong since it began on July 1st, and the Miami Heat made a big splash early on by re-signing Goran Dragic to a 5-year deal worth $90 million.
The Heat now surely have all their attention focused on getting Dwyane Wade under contract, as he is a free-agent after opting out of the final year of his contract, which would have paid him over $16 million.
Miami selected Dwyane Wade with the 5th pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, a choice that would prove to be one of the best that Riley has made for the Heat (which is a list that is long and distinguished).
Starting with his rookie season, Wade has become the face of a franchise that has become known as much for its classiness as its propensity for winning.
Though the team has gone through several big changes during his tenure, including the addition (and subtraction) of several top-tier players such as Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James, Wade has always been the foundation for all of the achievements that Miami has accomplished.
A three-time NBA champion, a Finals MVP, a league scoring champion, an eleven-time NBA All-Star and the all-time leading scorer in Heat history, Wade is undoubtedly the best player to ever put on a Miami uniform.
His allegiance to the team and the region of South Florida will long be remembered by Heat fans and NBA fans as a whole, especially if he chooses to remain in Miami for the duration of his career.
Wade has made some amazing highlight-reel plays during his NBA career and here are some of the best ones:
