Top Dog Runs In South Florida

Some of the Best South Florida Dog Parks are located in the Miami area. Many of the parks in the area allow dogs that are on-leash only. There are, however, several parks that have dog runs so the dogs can run off-leash and get some exercise.

Flamingo Bark Park is a 39,900 square feet dog park that features two off-leash play areas for dogs. The dog run for smaller dogs specifies that it is for dogs under 25 pounds. Both of the dog runs are double gated to give owners a chance to unleash their dogs in a holding area before they go into the main dog run. There are drinking stations within the dog runs for both the dogs and their owners, as well as doggie baggie stations, waste receptacles, and lots of shaded benches for resting.

North Shore Open Space Park has two separate dog run areas, as well as doggy-bag dispensers, waste receptacles, benches, and walking paths. Although the overall size of the park is only 1.02 acres, dogs love it here. However, there are no water fountains here so bring your own water for your pets. The extra barriers outside the dog run fences help keep the dogs safely inside the dog runs. North Shore Open Space Park is open seven days a week from sun-up to sundown.

Rickenbacker Causeway Beach
Rickenbacker Causeway
Key Biscayne, FL 33149

This little section of Key Biscayne is a local gem visited mostly by dog owners who live in the area. The water at Rickenbacker Causeway Beach is shallow and there are tiny rocks in the water which could make playing in the water difficult. However, dogs do not seem to have any problems with the rocks. The shallow water makes this a great place for young children to romp in the water with their four-legged friends. Bring your own doggie poop bags as this is not a city or county park and therefore is not maintained with doggie supplies or fresh water.
