Top Art Exhibits Coming To South Florida In 2016

South Florida is a mecca within the world of the Arts and Design. With artists convening in round table discussions, collaborating in ode to the past, present and future – and with these artists showing a passion for human emotion, culture, tradition and society, there is always something to see, something to feel and – in recognition of our culinary artists – something to taste!

Last year we brought you a similar list and you loved it! So, we put together a list of some upcoming exhibits that you just can't get enough of. Be sure to check them out!

Catch these on display at the Dina Mitrani Gallery until May 14, 2016. "Handmade & Heartfelt"is a collection of photo-based works by three women, Heidi Kirkpatrick, K. K. DePaul and Rachel Philips, who fell in love with history, photographs, and old memories of love lost and found. The ladies use photography as a base, combined with various surfaces and textures that allow them to tell a story through imagery and shape. The artists use vintage materials to tell the story of women and families in an ironic and pop-artsy way. Mysterious and slightly eerie, this traveling exhibit is a must-see, especially for the ladies!

Capturing African American perspective of tradition and pop culture into collage art forms, Bearden photographed small collages and transformed them into large black and white photographs that spoke in ways words couldn't. An amazing collection, this exhibit and many others have been traveling since 2003 with many pieces in this collection touring since only 2015.
