Tiger Woods To Miss British Open
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The ratings for the British Open took a hit Tuesday when Tiger Woods announced on his website that he will not play in the upcoming British Open at Royal St. George's.
Woods is still recovering from a left knee and Achilles injury. He has previously said he will not return to competition until his injuries are 100 percent healed.
Woods hasn't hit a golf ball since he walked off the course at The Player's Championship around two months ago. Missing the British Open will be the second straight major that Woods' has missed, along with the U.S. Open.
The final major of the year is the PGA Championship in Atlanta, Ga. from Aug. 11-14. Woods will be replaced in the field by Brendan Jones.
