Tiger Withdraws From Players Championship
PONTE VERDA BEACH, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – If you were hoping to get a glimpse of Tiger Woods at The Players Championship this weekend, you're out of luck.
After struggling mightily on the first nine holes of the tournament; Woods shook hands with his playing partner Martin Kaymer and withdrew from the tournament.
Woods was playing for the first time since suffering a knee and Achilles' tendon injury during the 2011 Masters Championship.
Woods hit a triple-bogey on the fourth hole and bogeyed the first, fifth, and ninth hole. He was at +6 through the first nine holes.
The 35-year-old Woods has struggled the last few years and has only finished in the top 10 twice in the five tournaments he's played in 2011.
