Tickets For Mega Millions Game Go On Sale This Week
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) – Florida residents who like to drop of a couple of bucks each week in hopes of hitting it big in the Florida Lotto or multi-state Powerball will have a new game to wager on beginning this week.
Florida is now a part of the Mega Millions lottery along with 42 other states. Tickets for the new game will go on sale this Wednesday.
The Mega Millions game "offers players opportunities to win multi-million dollar jackpots starting at $12 million and non-jackpot prizes ranging from $2 to $250,000, or up to $1 million if the ticket includes "Megaplier". Overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 40", according to lottery officials.
"Players can enjoy playing a multi-state game at a $1 price point, and two additional drawings a week means more chances to win," said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O'Connell in a statement.
Last summer the Florida Lottery wrapped up the most financially successful year in its history.
