Gunman On The Loose After Miami Shooting Spree
MIAMI (CBS4) – The search is on for a man who police say is responsible for a shooting spree in Liberty City Sunday morning.
Erin Cash, 23, is considered armed and dangerous, according to Miami Police detectives.
Investigators say the violence all started as a domestic dispute between Cash and his girlfriend at 13 Avenue and Northwest 41 Street.
"This argument escalated to semi-physical, and the female victim jumped out of the car while it was still in motion," Miami Police Detective Willie Moreno told CBS4's Lauren Pastrana.
The couple's 3-year-old son was in the car at the time, Moreno added.
"Before the suspect fled he did tell the female he was going to kill her and their son," Moreno said.
According to investigators, Cash drove off with his son but dropped him off at his mother's home at 1255 Northwest 72 Street in Miami.
Police say the shooting spree started after Cash dropped off his son.
Detectives say Cash shot one of his girlfriend's brothers at Northwest 12 Avenue and 64 Street before driving two blocks to Northwest 10th Avenue and 64 Street and shooting his girlfriend's other brother.
One was grazed in the neck and the other was hit in the arm, police said. Their injuries are not considered life threatening.
Police say a third shooting occurred at Northwest 12 Avenue and 58th Terrace.
Authorities believe Cash targeted someone, but missed, and hit an innocent bystander in the leg.
After the third shooting, police say Cash dropped of his 2006, 4-door White Pontiac back at his mother's house.
Investigators have recovered the car, but the search is still on to find Cash.
"He did specify he wasn't going to go down without a fight," Det. Moreno said. "Hopefully, he does change his mind, he does contact us, he does come in voluntarily."
If you recognize Cash, police say not to engage him.
They urge you to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
The three-year-old boy was unharmed and is back with his mother.
