Thousands Stolen In Cash Advance Store Burglary

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Some enterprising burglar, or burglars, used the dark of night and power tools to steal thousands of dollars from a cash advance shop in southwest Miami-Dade.
Investigators say some time between 3:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. the Advance America location at 15102 SW 72nd Street was broken into, but not directly.
Miami-Dade police Detective Marjorie Eloi said whoever burglarized the store, originally broke into the Chinese restaurant next door. They then got into the cash advance store through the ceiling, cutting the surveillance camera wires along the way.
Once inside, power tools were used to cut into two safes and about $16,000 was taken.
